During the Manning data center outage on December 18, 2019, it came to our attention that some of the APs in ITS Franklin that were joined to a controller located in ITS Manning did not failover to their standby controller as designed. This controller is running a newer version of ArubaOS code and therefore may have bugs that may have caused or contributed to the problems that we saw. We need to test failover in a more controlled setting to determine if the newer code is the issue or if other variables that existed during the data center outage might have contributed to the problem.
During this test, we will attempt to simulate the failure, and access points in ITS Manning and ITS Franklin may be unavailable for a period of time.
