Scheduled
Scheduled service maintenance will be performed on Network: Campus Wireless Network eduroam onboarding beginning 07/16/2020 09:00 AM EDT and ending 07/16/2020 09:30 AM EDT. Please contact the ITS Service Desk at 962-HELP with any questions by referencing Change Request# CHG0032626.

In an effort to reduce the number of calls to the service desk, we are slightly changing the design of the UNC-Setup experience to better and more quickly onboard users. We are going to make the following changes:
1) Allow/Promote captive portal detection when people connect to UNC-Setup (browser will automatically launch bringing them to the landing page). Previously, CP detection was defeated making the person have to open a browser and go to a page, which may or may not work depending on the circumstances
2) Remove the DNS blocks for favorite sites (facebook/instagram/etc).
3) Change the landing page to help students through a scenario in which the browser window closes after authentication (normally with android)

We will institute a 5 meg bidirectional rate limit. A 10 minute time out will still be standard.
